Right to Learn: Free Education Trainings
This training series holds as its
main focus the education of children with disabilities in
the public school system. Presentations and discussions include overviews of special education
law, transition planning, writing effective IEP goals and creating student portfolios.
Meetings occur during the academic year (September thru May) at least one time per month.

Special Education 101:
An Overview of Special Education Law:
This course is typically offered once monthly from September through May. It is held at The Arc of Greater Houston office and provides a thorough overview of the special education process including referral, rights, services, procedural safeguards, least restrictive environment and the meaning of educational progress.

Educación Especial 101: En español
ofrece una vista general sobre las leyes federal es y estatales que gobiernan las escuelas públicas y los procedimientos en educación especial. Todas las reuniones se llevaran acabo en nuestra oficina 3737 Dacoma suite E. 77092. Se requiere que los individuos reserven su participación por lo menos 3 días antes de la fecha. Cada presentación comenzará a las 11:00am y sólo se le permitirá la entrada a aquellas personas con 15 min. de demora. El costo del adiestramiento es de $25.00 dólares* y los participantes reciben: Copia de la presentación en Power Point, The Resource Guide for Persons with Special Needs (actualizado), ¡Esta es una Nueva IDEA!
