Dot  Adult Weekend Respite Dot Programs

An out-of-home, overnight, weekend respite program for families of individuals, ages 21 and older, with Mental Retardation, Autism, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder. This program occurs twice a month, Friday through Sunday. A maximum of 10 participants attend each respite session with a 2:1 consumer/staff ratio. Three staff are present overnight.

Daytime activities include sporting and musical events, visits to restaurants, theme parks, shopping excursions, movies, educational tours, and other community-wide events. The Arc’s overnight respite program is the only respite program in Harris County with a community-based, recreational component.
